|Centraide of Greater Montreal's Campaign 2018|
|Marie-Josée Lamothe, Managing Director of Branding at Google Canada and Managing Director of Google Quebec, and Stephen Bronfman, Executive Chairman of Claridge, will serve as co-chairs of Centraide of Greater Montreal's Campaign 2018. They will be supported by about 30 volunteers from businesses, institutions and trade unions. These invaluable partners will meet with the leaders of organizations to implement Centraide's next workplace campaign.
Marie-Josée Lamothe is a member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations. At Centraide, she helped launch TechAide, a group that organizes charitable events for the new technologies sector.
Committed philanthropist Stephen Bronfman has been involved in many major fundraising campaigns. He has actively supported a variety of causes, including Centraide, for many years.
"Montreal's economy is getting better, but poverty is still very much with us. Many people, even if they have a job, just can't rise above the low-income cut-off. The campaign will support the mission of community agencies that not only help people in difficulty meet basic needs but that also support these individuals so that they can fully contribute to society," said Lili-Anna Peresa, President and Executive Director of Centraide of Greater Montreal.
Centraide's 2018 campaign will officially launch on October 4 during Centraide's March of 1,000 Umbrellas, which will follow a new route through downtown Montreal this year.
Centraide of Greater Montreal is active in the territories of Laval, Montreal and the South Shore. About 57,000 volunteers are involved with the 350 agencies that it supports, and 22,000 volunteers work on its annual campaign. Centraide has a presence in 18 regions in Quebec and is supported by private, public and parapublic corporations and institutions as well as large trade unions. The money raised is invested locally to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion. For more information: centraide-mtl.org. source:Newswire.ca Back...
